sen clinton negatives

you know that old addage about being unable to please everyone?  it applies to politicians too.  all candidates have a certain number of negatives, like being ‘arrogant’ or ‘smug’.  sen. clinton, however, operates on another level:

Criminal . . . megalomaniac . . . fraud . . . dangerous . . . devil incarnate . . . satanic . . . power freak.

and thats what the democrats were saying.  i’m not going to lie, i feel the same way (my words were amoral and soulless).  a clinton campaign be just about the only thing to get me voting for a non-democrat for president.

it probably isn’t on policies.  she seemed to score pretty well on presidential calculators.  shockingly well, in fact.  but i’ve never been big into checklist liberalism

my dislike of hillary stems from the same reasons i supported lamont.  sen clinton, like lieberman, strikes me as an out of touch political weathervane.  i’m not looking for a candidate that can court votes on key big issue bills, to win over the right democratic issue groups.  i’m looking for someone with principles, willing to fight for what they believe in.  whether i completely agree with them – while ideal – is secondary.  thats why i liked dean, while others were closer to my stances on issues.

but since that isn’t an easy package for a consultant to bundle (actually, firing the consultants would probably make it easier), my hopes aren’t too high.

As a New Yorker, I am very anti-Hillary. She talks well. but delivers little; takes credit for any good thing that gets legislated even if she did no more than say “good-morning” to the author of the legislation and is so calculating it really scares me. When she stayed in a local hotel (big name chain), she insisted that she have colored towels and that they get her cherry coke. They had to drive about 50 miles to get her soda.
She really is just one of us, right?
